Analyzing Pandemic Dynamics through Traveling Waves: A Mathematical Model
Аннотация
Abstract: This article studies the dynamics of pandemics through the lens of travelling wave solutions within mathematical models. By extending the classic SIR (Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered) model to include spatial dependence, we explore how waves of illness propagate through populations. Through mathematical analysis and derivation, we derive equations for wave speed and assess the severity of epidemics. Our findings emphasize the critical role of reducing the contact ratio in slowing down disease spread and minimizing its impact. The study underscores the power of mathematical modelling in understanding and combating pandemics, offering insights into strategies for effective intervention.
