<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The purpose of the research is to develop regression models for predicting the recovery of patients after traumatic brain injury.</p>
<title>Methods</title><p>Methods. 125 patients with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury were examined in clinical conditions. The patients were examined 10-21 days after receiving a traumatic brain injury. The level of cognitive reserve was assessed according to a generally accepted methodology, where the patient's education was dominant. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and the standard statistical package Statistica 10.0 were used to build mathematical models.</p>
<title>Results</title><p>Results. The obtained values of the coefficients of β logistic regression indicate the opposite effect of ages from 51 60 and from 61 years or more on the recovery of patients after traumatic brain injury. In the adjusted model, recovery after a traumatic brain injury depends significantly on the place of residence, namely, living in rural areas, which is explained by the lower availability of specialized medical care than in cities. The patient's full family has a positive effect on recovery from traumatic brain injury, and vice versa, the presence of an incomplete family slows down the recovery process. When 3 parameters of the cognitive reserve were included in the predictive model, the values of the β coefficients for most factors increased, including for age groups, and especially for the age of 40-50 years – by more than 2 times (p&lt;0.01). However, the cognitive reserve of patients has the highest impact on recovery after traumatic brain injury. The inclusion of patients' level of education in model 4 indicates the greatest association of patients' recovery from traumatic brain injury with higher/secondary specialized education, but it is lower than the association with the level of cognitive reserve in model 3.</p>
<title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. The results show that the following dependent variables should be used to predict the recovery of patients after traumatic brain injury: the level of cognitive reserve, higher/secondary specialized education, living in rural areas, in a full or incomplete family</p>
</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>черепно-мозговая травма</kwd><kwd>когнитивный резерв</kwd><kwd>прогнозирование</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>traumatic brain injury</kwd><kwd>cognitive reserve</kwd><kwd>prognosis</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Capizzi A., Woo J., Verduzco-Gutierrez M.
